The Syllabus

This course prepares candidates for the new AQA Spanish A level syllabus 2695, for examination in 2010-11 and later years. The full Advanced Level qualification comprises AS (1696) and A2 (2696). This syllabus has been chosen because it is the most suitable for distance learning.

Assessment for the AS is based on one 2-hour written paper worth 70% of the final marks and a speaking and listening test worth 30% of the final marks.

At A2 level, similarly, Unit 3 consists of a two-and-a-half hour exam paper worth 110 marks, divided into three different sections: Listening,  Reading and Writing (generall) and Writing: Cultural Topics. Unit 4, the speaking test, will last for a total of 35 minutes, 20 of which are preparation time. A total of 50 marks are available for Unit 4. The test itself is divided into two parts: Discussion of a Stimulus Card (5 minutes) and Conversation (10 minutes).
