Our Admissions Policy
Academic Achievement
We have a responsibility to ensure that students are only admitted to courses that are suitable for them.
Students applying for higher level courses are expected to have previously obtained 4 GCSEs at grade C or above or an equivalent qualification. Some higher level courses require prior knowledge of the subject, e.g. Maths 'A' level.
Subject Combinations
We recommend that students discuss carefully with a Student Adviser the number and combination of subjects to study prior to enrolment. Please be aware that some subjects cannot be sat in combination. An example of this would be Combined Science GCSE and Physics GCSE due to the overlap in syllabus content.
Subject Content
Oxford Open Learning strives to ensure that none of its courses contains material which would be inappropriate for students aged 13. The vast majority of families studying with Oxford Home Schooling are completely happy with course content. However, if you feel that any aspect of our courses may conflict with your own personal, moral or religious beliefs please speak to a Student Adviser prior to starting the course.
Oxford Home Schooling reserves the right to decline any application to study without giving a reason.
Age
Oxford Home Schooling takes students from the age of 11 to study KS3 subjects, from 13 to study GCSE subjects and from 15 to study 'A' Levels. If you are over 18, our partner company, Oxford Open Learning, is specifically set up to teach adults. Please visit their website by clicking here.
