Are we creating a nation of cheats?

This is the question asked by Kevin Rooney of Times Online.  His article doesn’t discuss home education as such but, in a round about way, it touches on some of the reasons people choose to home educate their children.

It paints a child’s world where everything, including home life, revolves around formal education in a primary school system where testing has become the raison d’etre.  The article conveys a situation where the use of free time, not just by the child but also by the family, is dictated by the primary school.

Is this a feeling Oxford Home Schooling students had when they were in primary school?  Is this one of the reasons why you chose home education?
