English Literature IGCSE: Special Arrangements for 2022 Exams
Because of the Covid pandemic and lengthy school closures, there will be special arrangements for the Edexcel IGCSE examinations in Summer 2022. In 2022, candidates will not be assessed on Anthology Poetry in Paper 1. Students will answer the usual question on unseen poetry and then their question on modern prose. The Paper 1 exam will last 1 hour and 20 minutes and attract 60 marks. Paper 2 is completely unchanged.
Students of this course have a choice between omitting the Worksheets (1-16) on the Poetry Anthology, or studying them anyway. Even though you will not be directly assessed on these poems, the skills you develop by studying the Worksheets will be invaluable in your preparation for the Unseen Poetry element. Please discuss this with your tutor if you are uncertain of your best strategy.
