Jo Marsh

Having trained to teach English at one of the worlds most prestigious universities, I began my career teaching English Language, Literature and Media Studies at both GCSE and A Level. In my seventh year of teaching I progressed to the role of Head of English in a new local school and contributed to the success of the students achieving some of the highest grades in the county.
As someone who found studying challenging at school age and only realised my full potential as a mature student I identify with some of the difficulties students can have. As a tutor I am passionate about learners achieving their full potential and have realised that teaching topics through engaging methods can often revive a love of the subject and additionally aide retention of information. Something that has become increasingly important with the new style GCSEs.
I left teaching in the classroom setting in 2017 and now work as a tutor, teacher trainer and an examiner for AQA, Cambridge Assessment and the International Baccalaureate. As such I have a secure knowledge of both what is required to achieve well in exams and how to help students be the best they can be.
In my spare time I read broadly, enjoy the theatre and arts and spend time playing padel and going wild swimming.
