How progress is assessed in Year 7 Spanish

Progress is developed and checked through lesson activities, self-assessment and eight tutor-marked assignments. Students demonstrate both written and spoken Spanish, while the final assessment draws together language learned throughout the year.

Does the course teach Spanish grammar?

Yes. Grammar is introduced alongside useful language. Year 7 includes regular -AR verbs, gustar, possessive adjectives, articles, irregular verbs including hacer and jugar, and the near future tense.

Are online listening resources compulsory?

No. The course contains links to additional online speaking and listening resources, including opportunities to hear native speakers, but these are enrichment rather than essential course material.

Can parents help if they do not speak Spanish?

Yes. The course provides suggested answers for many activities, so parents can still encourage regular study, listen to practice and help students compare their work with the model answers.
