This Home Education course explores the business aspects of organisations within their economic, political and social contexts. Studying Business involves the investigation of how business adds value by organizing the production of goods and services. The performance of business is studied from a range of perspectives.
Using case studies, this course ensures that students have knowledge, understanding and experience of the real world of business organisations. The use of case study materials also requires that individuals use a variety of methods to analyse and evaluate this evidence and thus make reasoned judgments in the context of real business scenarios.
The subject is called ‘Business Studies’ for the last time in the 2018 exams. From 2019, it will be simply IGCSE ‘Business’ although there are relatively few fundamental changes.
The Home Educated OHS course is divided into five modules, as follows:
There are 22 lessons and 9 Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMAs), one of which is a practice exam paper.
When you start your course with us you will agree an examination date or dates with your Student Adviser. Your support period is then up to this examination date.
The course is designed to be accessible to students who have usually studied the core subjects up to and including Key Stage 3 Year 9.
