Interpreting your English Language GCSE pre-release materials

What is the Advanced Information

The main aim is to help you use your revision time effectively. In the case of English Language, the guidance helps with Paper 2 only.

As you’ll see, the 1st source for Section A will be 21st century autobiographical writing and the 2ndsource will be a 19th century essay, In Section B (Q5), you will be expected to write an article. So you might choose to focus your own study or revision on similar sources or practice in writing articles. There is no other information beyond that so the practical effect of this advice is fairly limited and specific.

Study the Whole Course

Our general advice is to complete all lessons but to keep this advice close to hand during the revision process and make sure you are particularly well prepared to answer questions of these types.
