Interpreting your Business A level pre-release materials

    What is the Advanced Information

The main aim is to help you use your revision time effectively. In the case of Business, you will see that the advice consists of a list of topics which will be the “major focus” of questions in each exam paper and the quantitative skills required on each paper.

Very few sub-topics have been excluded but the following are not on the list: 3.1.1, 3.2.1, 3.4.1, 3.4.2, 3.6.1, 3.6.5, 3.7.6, 3.7.7, 3.7.8 and 3.9.3. More importantly, the information tells you on which paper each topic will appear so you can focus your revision time between papers, limited as it is, on topics likely to come up next, e.g. Assessing Innovation on Paper 3, but not before.

    Study the Whole Course

If a topic is not on the list, it does not mean you can ignore it. Every topic on the specification may be relevant to the answer of some question or the focus of a question with a smaller number of marks.

Our general advice is to complete all lessons but to keep this list of topics close to hand during the revision process and make sure you are particularly well prepared to answer questions on all these named topics.

    Key Takeaways

    • If a topic is not on the list, it does not mean you can ignore it
    • complete all lessons and Tutor Marked Assignments
